Catalonia 2020 Strategy (ECAT2020)

The Government of Catalonia is working with economic and social stakeholders to promote the Catalonia 2020 Strategy (Ecat2020), which is based on two agreements to boost the competitiveness of the Catalan economy and to create jobs.

The Ecat2020 Strategy will provide a stable framework for medium- and long-term competitiveness policies and will contribute to bringing the Catalan Government’s economic measures and policies into line with EU priorities and improving Catalonia’s positioning within the international context.

The initiative was launched with a Government Agreement that was signed on 13 December 2011. The agreement for the 2012-2015 period is expected to be signed with economic and social stakeholders in the spring.
